As you know, Baidu is the most popular company who is providing the search engine in China. And Baidu also provides other solutions to internet users, and this Baidu Cloud is also one of their services.
To put it simply, it's the service it is like the Google Drive.
They provide the 15GB space to users without any charge, but if the user would like to get more space, it's basically needed suitable costs.
But now, they promote a campaign that Baidu give 460GB permanent space without any charge. *Of course, it is needed some process to get it :)
Today, I would like to explain how you can get it.
At first, you have to register the account of Baidu here.
And if you don't have a cellphone in China, you have to click the tab that is marked the red frame to register it with your email address.
After inputting your email address, the password and verification code, you have to click that is marked the blue frame to finish this registration.
If you successfully finish this registration, go back to the campaign page to login to Baidu Cloud.
To login, you have to click the green frame button at the upper right corner of the above picture. After you input your registered email, password and verification code, it means that you already got the chance to join this campaign.
There are two steps to get 460GB permanent space here as follows.
1. Download its Windows or Macintosh client, and after that, access to the Baidu Cloud from its client.
At first you have to click the icon of PC to download its client.
*The icon of the left side is client for Windows, and the right side is for Macintosh.
After downloading, you have to start its client, and have to login with Baidu account on it. After that, you can find a popup that is written the button of "领取100G", so you have to click that button. That's all. After that, you can find that you already got its 100GB space.
2. Download its smartphone client, and after that, click the blue frame button.
This step is very simple. At first, you have to click the button of each smartphone picture that you usually use to download its client. *for example, the button of Android. After that, the action you have to do is only to click the blue frame button.
That's all. And you can get 360GB additional space.
Actually, this campaign has the three steps, and this campaign is named 1T (it means 1TB) one. But to clear the last step, you have to pay 1 RMB via electric money. I know 1 RMB is not so expensive, but if you don't have the account of bank in China or any payment cards like Alipay, you can't get it.
This blog has a lot of access from outside of China, so I said "460GB", and I explained the only two steps :)
Baidu Cloud is very useful to share files with people who lives in China. If you have an interest, let's get it!

It is the something worth seeing whether Chinese XP users will upgrade or replace their OS to other OS or not.
Anyway at this time, I think that web service provider or app developer who wants to enter Chinese market have to consider the above results.

Baidu still have the two big problem to be solved for search area.
As you know, Baidu is the biggest search solution provider in China. And actually, they have dominated the search market in China for a long time.
But recently, they are just facing the two big problems to be solved as follows.
1. Moblie Search Market
Chinese mobile search market share in the first quarter
Baidu 37.5%
SOSO 16.7%
easou 15.7%
Yicha 11.2%
Sogou 7.4%
Google China 6.3%
Youdao 2.3%
Roboo 1.8%
iask 1.3%
The above picture is the market share of the Chinese mobile search engine in the first quarter. According to this report, Baidu has 37.5% market share in Chinese mobile search engine market, and they occupy the leading position on there.
But as I explained before, they still don't have the overwhelming strength in the mobile area compared to the PC area.
Baidu has provided the special Smartphone that is adopted their own OS with partner since last year, and they established the LBS specific team in their company to accelerate their mobile solution. But compared the market share of last year, but it seems that their effort is not still rewarded.
2. Rise of the Qihoo 360
The following picture is the market share of the Chinese PC search market in the first quarter.
Baidu 68.32%
Qihoo 360 14.40%
Sogou 8.35%
SOSO 4.05%
Google China 3.75%
Bing China 0.64%
Yahoo China 0.32%
Youdao 0.28%
Other 0.07%
As mentioned before, Baidu have the the overwhelming strength in the PC search market. But compared to the first quarter of 2012, their market share decreased 10.18%. The main reason is the existence of Qihoo 360.
Qihoo 360 started to provide their own search service from last August. They are gradually expanding their market share, and they got the 2nd position in this market in the first quarter.
But Qihoo 360 also have the problem to be solved for mobile search solution. They started to provide their own mobile search service from last November, but they couldn't still get the enough market share at the first quarter.
This report also said that Chinese mobile internet users already exceeded 300 million people in the first quarter.
I think that the fierce battle in the Chinese mobile search market still continues for the time being, and it seems that all of the fighters have a chance to win. We have to keep watching who will come through this fierce battle.

Baidu formally established LBS division, and they announced to accelerate their LBS business with some partners.
Baidu held a event yesterday, and they announced to establish LBS division formally and start the project that is called "Smart Life".
And they also announced to make cooperation with some partners. Baidu will make a cooperation with Xiaomi to accelerate mobile MAP and LBS solution more than now.
Baidu have 21.3% market share in Chinese mobile map market, but AutoNavi and Google also each have 19.3% and 19% market share, so it also can be said that Chinese mobile map market is in the age of rival chiefs.
And Baidu also mentioned their business model, they said that O2O(MAP + Near Location + LBS) ads is the one of profitable case.
Baidu have a big presence in Chinese PC search market, but on the other hand they don't have a big presence in mobile solution area including search market compared to PC search market.
